Join me on Notes
A new place to connect - could it be a bit like a real third place?
I just published my first note on Substack Notes, and would love to have you to join me (and a bunch of great writers) there! You may have read that this new feature has Elon Musk foaming over at Twitter. That’s almost reason enough in my book to try it out. Bill McKibben had the perfect introvert’s comment: Notes is like a not too bad party.
The Substack writers I like best are saying that they want the new Notes to be a bit more like a third place (even if they don’t use that term). Civil, lively, and fun. Let’s see if it can happen.
In case you had better things to do this past week than read about Notes, in brief it’s a new space (that’s what they call it, not a platform) where we can share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. I plan to use it for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, like work-in-progress or quick questions, but I hope it’ll actually provoke some conversation, too.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Karen's Letter, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of Karen's Letter can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
