Dear Ms Christensen,

I just came across you and your work and I share many of your passions. I have written a lot about cafes as third places, in particular a book titled Cafe French: A Flaneur's Guide to the Language Lore and Food of the Paris Cafe. I also share your love of trains. Finally, I want to know if you are aware of the work of Susan Griffin (Chorus of Stones, Women and Nature, etc. She is a close friend of mine in Berkeley and she is now in hospice. There is a GoFundMe account to help her get through her final months. I have a substack page but don't use it often. My most recent book is Portrait in Red: A Paris Obsession (Heyday Books). It documents my journey with an abandoned painting I found on the sidewalk in Paris in 2015. Thanks for all the work you do and I hope to hear from you. I'd be happy to send you a copy of Cafe French. Sincerely, L. John Harris (ljohnharris.com)

I would be interested to see Cafe French, and I think I read a bit of Susan Griffin a long time ago, when I was supposed to write a book on ecofeminism. I appreciate the reminder—so many connections! Perhaps you can send me observations about social life you have observed in cafes?
